Jun 12, 2023 (newstodate): One Ukrainian carrier is back in the air after suspension since the start of Russia's invasion of the country: Skyline Express.
Before the war trading under the name Azur Air Ukraine, the carrier was operating charter flights from European, African, Indian and American airports to leisure destinations with a fleet of 11 Boeing aircraft.
In March 2023, the name was changed into Skyline Express and a first aircraft, a Boeing 757-300 was put on Ukrainian registry, followed this month by another Boeing 757-300 aircraft - both on lease from the Turkish company Turkish MAVI GOK HAVACILIK A.S.
Azur Air Ukraine was originally set up as a subsidiary of the Russian airline UTAir but acquired in 2015 by the Ukrainian tour operator Anex Tours that is still behind Skyline Express.
