May 26, 2023 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is happy to note the decision by SAS to boost its frequency of flights to Copenhagen.
Starting from November 6, 2023, SAS will grow its schedule on the route Vilnius-Copenhagen to triple daily on weekdays and double daily on weekends, up from today's double daily week-round services.
Lithuanian Airports see the increase in frequencies signaling that Lithuania's communication with the world is returning to the pre-pandemic level and being effectively developed through partnerships with international airline companies.
The added flights to and from Copenhagen Airport is seeing as a special boon for passengers between Lithuania and the USA via SAS' Danish hub.
In the current summer flight season, Lithuanian airports offer a total of more than 80 flight routes; passengers traveling through Vilnius airport can reach almost 50 destinations, Kaunas airport offers almost 30 destinations, and Palanga airport offers five destinations.
Currently, 12 airlines operate regular flights at Lithuanian airports; nine are traditional airlines, and three are low-cost carriers.
