May 7, 2023 (newstodate): Moldova has finalized an Air Services Agreement with the USA, aiming at liberalizing passenger and cargo air transport between the two markets.
   Negotiations on the procedures were started already in 2017 and the final agreement will be signed tomorrow, May 18, 2023, by representatives from the parties.
   With the agreement in place, Moldova hopes to see the opening of direct flights from Chisinau to destinations in the United States of America.
   Today, three carriers from Moldova are certified to operate flights to the USA: Dan Air, TAROM and Romcargo Airlines, and in April 2023, the Moldovan carrier HiSky Europe revealed its plans for launching flights to the USA.
   The carrier has applied with the US regulator FAA for an Exemption and a Foreign Air Carrier Permit allowing it to operate scheduled and charter flights between Europe and the US market with Airbus A321LR aircraft.
