May 04, 2023 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport saw cargo volumes continuing the downward trend in April 2023.
In April, the airport thus handled 644 tonnes which was down 22.6 percent, y-o-y.
After the first four months of the year, the airport has seen volumes down by 22.3 percent, y-o-y, to only 2,792 tonnes, of which export volumes accounted for 48 percent and imports for 52 percent.
Until early 2022, Tallinn Airport had been building up a position in the Asia/Europe/US e-freight business - which suffered greatly by the Russian invasion of Ukraine leading to the current closure of airspace and a general economic downturn.
