May 23, 2023 (newstodate): Icelandair has contracted the Romanian aircraft maintenance company Aerostar for maintenance of its Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet.
   The first aircraft under the contract was flown to Aerostar's facility at Bacau Airport on May 21, 2023.
   The aircraft manufactured in 2018 was earlier operated by Norwegian but parked at Spanish airports during the corona lockdown, before taken over by Icelandair earlier this year.
   In the fleet of Icelandair are today 14 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and four Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
