May 01, 2023 (newstodate): This year's first quarter reflected the general downturn in the air cargo industry at almost all Nordic airports.
Denmark's Copenhagen Airport retained its lead in cargo volumes in Q1/2023 with a total of 64,566 tonnes of cargo, flown and trucked included, which was however still down 16.6 percent, y-o-y.
Norway's Oslo Airport handled a total of 39,543 tonnes of flown cargo, also down nine percent - but this figure includes only flown cargo that is the minor proportion of the total cargo out of the airport.
Sweden's Stockholm Airport handled a total of 23,426 tonnes of flown cargo, down by 14.1 percent,
Finland's Helsinki Airport handled 41,146 tonnes of cargo, flown and trucked included, declining 15.6 percent compares to Q1/2022.
Alone in breaking the negative trend was Iceland's Keflavik Airport that reported the handling of 15,368 tonnes - a positive growth by 12.7 percent.
