May 23, 2023 (newstodate): The Danish regional aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital plays a key role as provider to a newborn Australian airline, Nexus Airlines.
The new airline took off on its first flight on May 17, 2023, with one of five Dash 8 Q400 aircraft acquired on a lease contract with NAC.
The carrier will provide flights on a regional route network connecting Geraldton and Perth, and Broome, Kununurra and Darwin.
NAC is thus continuing its placements of the Q400 fleet; earlier this month, the Italian carrier Sky Alps signed a contract for the acquisition of four Dash 8-400 aircraft from NAC's stock.
And earlier this year, one Dash 8-400 aircraft was sold to the Polish carrier LOT, while another Dash 8-400 on NAC's stock was sold Icelandair; in March 2023, NAC also delivered one Dash 8-400 on lease to LAM, the flag carrier of Mozambique with a hub at Maputo International Airport.
