Based at Tashkent Airport, Centrum Air was set up by the Uzbek cargo airline My Freighter early this year, starting out with a fleet of five aircraft, wet-leased from GetJet Group, including two Boeing 737 and three Airbus A320 aircraft to offer domestic flights connecting five airports in Uzbekistan, and later to expand the network to comprise international destinations in markets including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, India, and South Korea.
The two Boeing 737-800 aircraft have now been returned to the GetJet Group after completion of the contract period.
In the meantime, Centrum Air has acquired two of the three Airbus A320 aircraft earlier operated by GetJet through a transaction with their lessors, and they have now changed registration to Uzbekistan.
Centrum Air plans to grow the fleet to up to 20 aircraft already before the end of 2023, and lofty visions are to have some 100 aircraft in the air by 2026, God willing...
