May 03, 2023 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier GetJet Airlines is adding more Boeing 737-800 capacity to its fleet.
New on the roster are two Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the first of which is already being readied for start of commercial services in the ACMI market by this week, with the second to follow in mid-May.
Both aircraft are delivered on a lease contract with AerCap and were earlier operating in Russia with various airlines prior to the Russian war on Ukraine and later stored at Turkish airports from February 2022.
GetJet Airlines has also sourced three more Airbus A320 aircraft to join the fleet by the start of June, latest.
This will allow the Lithuanian ACMI provider to grow its capacity before the high season, ensuring flexible ACMI services to customers facing a shortage of aircraft and crew globally.
Today, GetJet Airlines' fleet consists of four Boeing 737-800 aircraft, including the latest delivery, as well as two Airbus A320 aircraft plus one A320 in the fleet of GetJet Airlines Latvia.
