May 15, 2023 (newstodate): For quite a period, Sweden's Jonkoping Airport has consistently been reporting only positive figures on air cargo.
April 2023 marks a slight difference, though, with total volumes seeing a drop by three percent, y-o-y.
A total of 235 tonnes were handled at the airport, including 174 tonnes of scheduled cargo, down 16 percent, and a mere 15 tonnes of cargo on ad-hoc flights, also down 21 percent, y-o-y.
Mail volumes fared differently with an increase by 193 percent, y-o-y, to 47 tonnes.
The growth in mail volumes reflects the return from January 31, 2022, of PostNord Sweden's nightly flights on weekdays between Stockholm Arlanda and Jonkoping Airport, operated by the Swiss carrier Zimex.
In January-April 2023, a total of 1,044 tonnes was handled at Jonkoping Airport, which is still eight percent above 2022.
