May 25, 2023 (newstodate): Earlier generating positive cargo growth figures at Copenhagen Airport, integrators FedEx and DHL have lost steam in 2023.
In the first four months of this year, the integrators saw their joint volumes down by 6.6 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 29,098 tonnes.
The negative trend was noted both in all-cargo volumes that dropped 7.1 percent to 22,657 tonnes, and in trucked cargo that declined by 3.5 percent, y-o-y, to 6,530 tonnes.
In January-April 2023, the airport handled a total of 85,643 tonnes of cargo on legacy and integrator carriers - a decline by 17 percent, y-o-y.
The significant drop was mainly generated by legacy carriers that saw volumes down by no less than 21.3 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 56,545 tonnes.
In January-April 2023, the integrators' proportion of the total cargo volumes handled at Copenhagen Airport was thus 26 percent, against 32.3 percent of the total cargo handled at Copenhagen Airport in 2022, 31.7 percent in 2021 - and 21.9 percent in 2019.
