May 04, 2023 (newstodate): Norwegian seafood exporters will soon get a temporary boost in cargo capacity to the Korean market.
With the opening flight on May 11, 2023, the South Korean hybrid carrier Air Premia will operate one weekly rotation till August 17, 2023, between Seoul Incheon Airport and Oslo Airport with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft - the first direct passenger service between the two countries after the outbreak of corona in 2019.
The operation is a full-charter for Korean tour operators. The flight thus allows no passenger sales in Norway - but it will still take shipments of Norwegian seafood on the return trip to South Korea, a key market for Norwegian exporters.
Air Premia has contracted Menzies to provide airport handling; cargo sales will be provided by SkyLog/ECS as GSSA, and OSCC will provide Air Premia with cargo handling.
Besides, Norse Technical will provide line maintenance of the Boeing 787-9 aircraft at Oslo Airport.
Set up 2017, Air Premia operates a fleet comprising three Boeing 787-9 aircraft leased from ALC.
