May 09, 2023 (newstodate): April 2023 saw cargo volumes on Finnair flights rising 6.7 percent, y-o-y, to 10,630 tonnes.
Thanks to the strategic cooperation with Qatar Airways, Finnair's volumes on flights to Doha rose steeply by no less than 1,786 percent (!) to 1,514 tonnes, but volumes on the Asian lanes were also up by 49.6 percent to 6,049 tonnes in April '23.
Despite Finnair's ongoing redirection of its focus away from Asia to North America, volumes on the NAM routes dropped 58.8 percent, y-o-y, to 1,322 tonnes as the discontinued Finnair operations between Sweden and the USA reduced the carrier's North Atlantic cargo capacity.
Volumes on Finnair's European traffic were also down by 11.4 percent to 1,719 tonnes.
In the first four months of 2023, Finnair has thus seen total cargo volumes trailing 7.7 percent after 2022, totaling 41,289 tonnes.
Middle East volumes were up by 587 percent, y-o-y; Asian volumes increased by 22.7 percent, and NAM volumes were down 55.5 percent, y-o-y.
