May 7, 2023 (newstodate): After a first month with irregularities due to expected start-up challenges, Maersk Air Cargo's route from Billund to Hangzhou, in China, via Navoi in Uzbekistan is now working fully up to schedule.
This morning, the carrier's Boeing 767-300ERF thus left Billund Airport with only a two minutes' delay, heading for Navoi International Airport and continuing to Hangzhou after a four-five quarters of an hour's ground stop for refueling, technical inspection and crew change.
The operation three times weekly via Navoi is a welcome addition to the portfolio of Navoi International Airport that sees a sound business as an en-route fueling and line maintenance stop for cargo flights connecting Europe and Asia.
-This Navruz (spring festival) is rich in gifts. In one day, we welcomed planes from three airlines at once. Cooperation with the logistics group Maersk Group, which is a global giant in the field of cargo transportation, is a very important project for Uzbekistan Airports and Navoi Airport in particular, Rano Juraeva, Uzbekistan Airports CEO, told Uzbek media.
-Negotiations were held for several months, conditions were discussed, and finally flights through Uzbekistan started on March 21, 2023.
