May 10, 2023 (newstodate): The Vilnius-based ACMI and charter carrier Avion Express has now detailed its plans for a subsidiary in Brazil.
The company is currently in the process of obtaining its AOC and pertinent licenses from the country's regulator, and expects to commence operations in Q4 2023 or Q1 2024 with a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft, including Airbus A321F aircraft, to support the airline’s cargo operations.
The goal is to grow steadily and expand the fleet of Avion Express Brazil to a double-digit number of aircraft within the first two years of operations, the company states.
Currently, the company, member of Avia Solutions Group, is calling for applicants to launch a new subsidiary company in Brazil, targeting the South American market.
Avion Express has opened vacancies to fill the positions of Chief Operations Officer to spearhead its coming new setup in Brazil, as well as Chief Technical Officer to join the new venture under formation in Sao Paolo.
In the fleet of Avion Express are now 12 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, and its Maltese subsidiary Avion Express Malta operates another 27 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, making Avion Express a world leader in the narrow-body wet-lease business.
