May 16, 2023 (newstodate): Air Greenland has started the process aiming at achieving IOSA certification in 2024.
The process was launched earlier this year, and the certification by IATA will make the carrier fully capable of bidding on any wet-lease and ACMI tender requiring IOSA that is also a prerequisite for serving airline customers with code-share partners.
IOSA-certified, Air Greenland will also be in a better position against other carriers once the opening of the coming new transatlantic airports brings in new airlines to compete with the Greenlandic national carrier.
IOSA, established in 2003 by IATA, uses internationally recognized quality audit principles and is designed to conduct recurrent bi-annual audits in a standardized and consistent manner.
All IATA members are IOSA registered and must remain registered to maintain IATA membership.
