Apr 19, 2023 (newstodate): Little burdened by company history, airBaltic now claims the opening of flights on a "new" route connecting Riga and Hanover in Germany.
Starting from April 15, 2023, the carrier is thus operating two weekly rotations on the route with Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
In effect, airBaltic first opened flights on the route already in December 2008, offering daily rotations with Fokker 50 aircraft on what was the carrier's fifth destinations in Germany- but the route was abandoned again in the wake of the financial crisis as demand weakened.
