Apr 11, 2023 (newstodate): Finnair's cargo volumes are picking up again, with a sound increase also on the Asian lanes.
In March 2023, the total volume of cargo on Finnair's flights reached 11,322 tonnes, an increase by 16.3 percent, y-o-y, with the Asian traffic generating 6,002 tonnes which was up by 62.6 percent, reflecting the recovery in traffic compared to the turbulent downturns in 2022 in the aftermath of the corona pandemic.
Volumes in the MEA traffic were up by 541.8 percent, y-o-y, to 2,116 tonnes due to the new cooperation with Qatar Airways from November 2022.
In this year's Q1, Finnair has thus seen total volumes at 30,650 tonnes, which is still 11.8 percent below Q1/2022, but with the Asian traffic growing 15 percent to 16,321 tonnes.
