Mar 31, 2023 (newstodate): The tour operator Apollo's decision to cancel its existing cooperation with the Swedish charter carrier Novair by the end of this summer's schedule is a heavy blow to the carrier's future.
Replacing its earlier ownership by tour operators Apollo and DER Touristik by the acquisition in April 2021 by Jet Nordic Group, owned by Danish investor Lars Thuesen, NOVAIR was granted a two-year contract with Apollo - and this is not to be renewed, leaving the carrier with two Airbus A321neo currently uncovered by contracts after the end of the schedule in October 2023.
-So far, the situation remains unchanged; Novair is doing well and producing as planned all through the current schedule. After that we just have to wait and see, says Mr. Thuesen.
-Novair is in a strong financial situation with no debts, a sound cash balance, and a secured income till the end of October - all enabling us to secure profitable retirement plans for our employees. All staff and aircraft lessor have been fully informed of the situation, and all costs are covered.
-Of course, we are prepared for even the worst-case scenario. However, we still hope for a life after October 2023 - but whether this is possible will only emerge in the coming few months..
