Mar 31, 2023 (newstodate): Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency is working hard to seek outlets for new international flights between Russia and countries defying the sanctions on the country.
   One current option in the focus of the Russian FAA is the launch of flights between Russia and South Africa.
   -If we receive an application from Russian carriers, it will be considered a soon as possible, says a source in the Ministry of Transport of South Africa as reported by Russian media.
   Already in January 2023, the South African embassy in Russia confirmed that Nordwind Airlines was discussing the launch of four direct weekly flights from Russia to South Africa.
   According to the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Russia could open flights with Myanmar, Mongolia, South Korea, South Africa, Algeria and several other countries in 2023.
