Mar 01, 2023 (newstodate): The Polish Airports State Enterprise is now cleared for the opening of flights at Warszawa-Radom Airport from Spring 2023.
The airport in the south of the country has been in operation since 1920 serving as a dual military/civil airport, relieving the growing pressure on Warsaw's Chopin Airport.
Reconstruction of the airport including an extension of the runway and expansion of the passenger terminal started in May 2019, but completion of the works and the launch of operations were delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The airport has now received its final certification based on EU standards and will see launch of traffic from April or May 2023, with the first three scheduled routes to be launched by LOT from Radom to Copenhagen, Paris, Preveza, Rome and Tirana.
In addition, Radom Airport will offer flights to seven charter destinations including Antalya, Burgas, Djerba, Monastery, Palma de Mallorca, Taba, and Varna, with TUI among the charter carriers to move traffic to Radom Airport.
