Mar 2023 (newstodate): A new Armenian carrier, Armenian Airlines, is opening up commercial services with flights to Russia.
For a start, the carrier will be offering flights from Yerevan Zvartnots Airport to four Russian destinations Moscow, Samara, Sochi and Vladikavkaz.
Set up only in December 2022, the airline's fleet today consists of a single Airbus A321 aircraft leased from ALC and formerly used by Nordwind Airlines.
In reality, the new airline is restricted in its visions from entering new international markets as all air carriers in Armenia were included in 2020 on the EU Air Safety List, including Armenia Airways, Atlantis Armenian Airlines, Armenian Helicopters, Atlantis European Airways and Mars Avia.
