Mar 01, 2023 (newstodate): The Icelandic virtual carrier Niceair is to tap further into the potentials for its trunk route to Denmark.
   Since the launch of flights between Akureyri and Copenhagen on June 2, 2022, passenger volumes have grown, and the carrier is now to add a third daily frequency on the route from the start of June '23.
   The additional daily flight will allow for same-day return travels to benefit both leisure and business traffic as well as offering further potentials for onward travels via Copenhagen Airport; transit traffic already accounts for about 1/3 of the total passenger volume.
   Niceair's flights are operated by the Portuguese ACMI and charter carrier HiFly allocating one Airbus A319 aircraft to serve on Niceair's route network.
