Mar 20, 2023 (newstodate): Today marks the inaugural flight by Maersk Air Cargo from Denmark's Billund Airport to Hangzhou, in China.
Operating the first of three newly converted Boeing 767-300 aircraft allocated to the European base at Billund Airport, the company will be offering three weekly rotations on the route from Billund to Hangzhou with an en-route technical stop at Uzbekistan's Navoi Airport for refueling and crew change.
Billund Airport offers a fully equipped, 4,000 m² import and 13,000 m² export facility with separate areas for cold storage, dangerous goods, scanning and ULD handling.
Maersk Air Cargo is now settled at Billund Airport with a Maersk Air Cargo team comprising cockpit crews and aircraft maintenance staff, a flight operations team, and a freight forwarding team available to secure reliability for Maersk customers.
