Mar 30, 2023 (newstodate): With the opening flight on March 29, Air Greenland has opened scheduled flights between Kangerlussuaq and Denmark's Billund Airport - its second destination in Denmark after Copenhagen Airport.
The carrier is now offering one weekly rotation on the route during the summer '23 schedule, with potentials for extending the service to year-round flights if warranted by the market.
Passengers in the western parts of Denmark thus gain direct access to flights to Greenland, avoiding needs for connecting via Copenhagen Airport.
The flights on the new route are provided by Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Danish ACMI carrier Jettime under a wet-lease contract so far running till the end of the current summer schedule.
From the start of the summer schedule, Jettime is also serving its customer Air Greenland with flights from Copenhagen to Narsarsuak.
