Mar 17, 2023 (newstodate): The Icelandic ACMI cargo airline Bluebird Nordic is planning for a new European platform: Slovakia.
As a strategic move to enter new and potent markets, Bluebird Nordic has thus applied for a Slovak AOC to expand its operations in Europe.
-Slovakia is ideally positioned in the middle of Europe, which offers great opportunities for a wider geographical coverage. The new AOC in the country will aid in expanding our airline routes and destinations, and strengthen the airline’s name in the region, says Audrone Keinyte, Bluebird Nordic CEO.
A member of Avia Solutions Group, Bluebird Nordic today operates a fleet of one Boeing 737-300, six Boeing 737-400 and five Boeing 737-800 full freighter aircraft, and plans to grow the fleet to 25 aircraft in the next couple of years to strengthen the position in cargo market, especially in Boeing Next Generation segment.
The focus of the Avia Solutions Grop is currently placed on Bluebird Nordic and KlasJet airlines, both of which will be operating Boeing 737-800 and 737-800 MAX type aircraft.
Avia Solutions Group holds eight AOCs in Europe, and in May the group is planning to obtain an AOC in Indonesia, expanding its current presence in more than 70 countries worldwide.
