Mar 20, 2023 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air has now opened a venue for direct European connections from Kiev, in Ukraine.
The offer is established in cooperation with Moldova's railway company.
Wizz Air passengers can thus go by train from Kiev to Kyshiniv and change at the Moldovan station Ungeny to the Moldovan train at Chisinau Station connecting to Iasi, in Romania.
From Iasi Airport, Wizz Air operates flights to a spree of destinations in Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and Great Britain.
Wizz Air set up Wizz Air Ukraine as the country's first low-cost carrier with the launch on July 18, 2008, but rigid changes in Ukraine's aviation law forced Wizz Air to close down the subsidiary in 2015.
Instead, Wizz Air returned to the Ukrainian market with own operations from 2016.
