Mar 08, 2023 (newstodate): Qatar Airways has announced a spree of new destinations to be served in 2023, as well as hikes in frequency on many existing routes.
In Scandinavia, Qatar Airways will thus increase services to Copenhagen from four weekly flights to seven in summe '23, and to 10 from winter 23/24, and in addition to this Finnair also operates seven weekly flights, bringing the total number of weekly rotations to 17 in Copenhagen.
Stockholm will see an increase from three weekly flights to five in winter 2023/24 while Finnair also operates seven weekly flights, totaling 12 weekly rotations in Stockholm.
Oslo will increase from seven to 12 weekly flights for the winter season, and this destination is not comprised by the Finnair/Qatar Airways strategic alliance.
Qatar Airways launched flights from Qatar to Scandinavia with Stockholm as its first destination from November 27, 2007, adding flights from Qatar to Copenhagen from March 30, 2010, and between Qatar and Oslo from October 5, 2011, rounding off in the Nordic region with flights to Helsinki, Finland, from October 10, 2016.
As the Finnair/Qatar Airways partnership took effect from November 2022, Qatar pulled out from the Finnish market, leaving all flights to and from Doha to Finnair from December 15, 2022.
