Mar 17, 2023 (newstodate): Preparing for its return of passenger services to the Danish market from May 22, 2023, Ethiopian Airlines has now adjusted its schedule.
So far, expectations were that the carrier would be offering five weekly rotations on the route - but it is now confirmed that Ethiopian Airlines will be offering "only" four weekly rotations.
But instead of operating a Boeing 787-8 aircraft, the carrier will be operating the larger Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the flights, growing capacity from 270 to 315 passengers on each flight.
The new service is operated as an extension of its route between Vienna and Addis Ababa, with 5th Freedom Rights to cover the leg connecting Vienna and Copenhagen.
Serving the Danish and Scandinavian air cargo markets since March 12, 2023, Ethiopian Airlines Cargo is also offering a weekly freighter service flying in from the carrier's main European hub at Liege and continuing directly to Addis Abeba, offering convenient late-Sunday onward transfer by connections to the airline's Asian and African destinations with early Monday arrivals.
According to industry sources, the scheduled Boeing 767 freighter flights are so far to continue through the coming summer schedule till October 23, 2023.
