Mar 13, 2023 (newstodate: Taking effect from April 1, 2023, Estonia's Nordic Aviation Group will be operating for Cyprus Airways out of Larnaca.
The cooperation is an ACMI contract with Nordica allocating one Airbus A320 aircraft to its new Cypriot partner for the coming summer schedule till October 2023.
This contract comes on top of NAG's earlier contract with Portugal's TAP comprising one ATR72-600 aircraft operating since November 1, 2022, with one more aircraft to join the base at Lisbon by early 2023, both on a wet-lease contract.
Nordic Aviation Group has also signed a long-term service agreement with start-up airline Marabu to support its launch of operations in the German market.
Under the contract, NAG will allocate three Airbus A320neo aircraft on an ACMI basis to Marabu at bases in Hamburg and Munich, as well as providing various additional supporting services.
Fully state-owned, Nordic Aviation Group comprises the capacity provider Xfly operating seven ATR72-600 as well as nine CRJ900 on a contract with SAS, and the airline Nordica operating so far one Airbus A320 aircraft - both companies with an own AOC.
Nordica has revealed its ambitions to be operating up to 10 Airbus A320 within "the next few years" as requested by the market.
