Mar 10, 2023 (newstodate): Except for integrator traffic, Copenhagen Airport has long been without scheduled freighter services. This is about to change..
Starting already from this coming Sunday, March 12, 2023, Ethiopian Airlines Cargo will launch a weekly freighter service flying in from the carrier's main European hub at Liege and continuing directly to Addis Abeba, offering convenient late-Sunday onward transfer by connections to the airline's Asian and African destinations with early Monday arrivals.
According to industry sources, the scheduled Boeing 767 freighter flights are so far to continue through the coming summer schedule till October 23, 2023.
The new weekly freighter service will add to the belly cargo capacity on Ethiopian Airlines' coming passenger flights five times weekly between Copenhagen and Addis Abeba with Boeing 787 aircraft starting from May 22, 2023, in total offering a major new cargo service in the Scandinavian market expected to attract notably Danish and Swedish pharmaceutical shipments as well as Norwegian seafood exports.
The cargo capacity on Ethiopian Airlines is sold by the carrier's GSSA, NordicGSA, and the cargo will be handled by WFS at Copenhagen Airport.
