Feb 20, 2023 (newstodate): The Swedish charter carrier Novair has lost a key contract with tour operator Apollo that has instead turned to the Swedish carrier BRA to provide capacity for its charter operations.
Apollo has thus signed a three-year contract with BRA taking effect from October 2023 when the current contract with Novair expires.
In April 2021, NOVAIR was acquired by Jet Nordic Group, owned by Lars Thuesen, replacing its earlier ownership by tour operators Apollo and DER Touristik.
As part of the deal, Novair was granted a two-year contract with Apollo - and this is not to be renewed, leaving the carrier with two Airbus A321neo currently uncovered by contracts.
Apollo will now instead be served by BRA's fleet of three Airbus A319 aircraft, the first of which has been delivered, to be supplemented by two Airbus A320 aircraft.
Jet Nordic Group, owned by Danish investor Lars Thuesen, is also owner of the Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jettime that is, however, operating independently of Novair.
