Feb 02, 2023 (newstodate): As the coronavirus recedes, Russia's St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport is slowly rebuilding its air connectivity with China.
   Starting from February 19, 2023, Hainan Airlines is back in St Petersburg with a weekly rotation from Beijing using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
   The carrier has been online on the route since 2008, but operations were suspended from 2020 due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
   Already serving St Petersburg with flights from China is Sichuan Airlines with a weekly rotation from Chengdu, operated since January 26, 2018.
   Prior to the Covid-19, the Chinese network from St Petersburg included scheduled direct flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian, Urumqi, Nanjing, Wuhan and Shenzhen, as well as charter flights to Guangzhou and Shanghai.
