Feb 24, 2023 (newstodate): The Latvian charter and ACMI carrier SmartLynx Airlines is sourcing a total of 40 cockpit and cabin staff for "a new, fixed term project in Scandinavia with a base in Stockholm, Sweden, for the summer season 2023".
   According to a job portal, the base in Sweden will be opened this spring in April and operations out of Stockholm are planned till the end of October, 2023.
   -Airbus A320 aircraft will be used to cover the operations out of Sweden, the announcement says.
   While not confirmed, industry sources claim that SmartLynx has landed a wet-lease contract with SAS to provide capacity during the upcoming summer 2023 schedule, comprising up to eight Airbus A320 aircraft to be based at Stockholm Airport for SAS' charter and scheduled services during the period.
