Feb 07, 2023 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport aims at revitalizing its CPH Cargo Community in 2023.
The hint is provided by the airport's Senior Air Cargo Manager, Airline Sales, Michael Giese in his LinkedIn post reflecting on the recent World Cargo Summit in Abu Dhabi.
-There is a need for the cargo communities to cooperate and ensure shared platforms for digitalization to support the cargo process throughout the supply chain. At Copenhagen Airport, we aim to revitalize the CPH Cargo Community Meetings with cargo companies.
-Though cooperation, we should focus on developing digital solutions to ensure efficient air cargo processes in Copenhagen, Mr Giese writes.
The airport formally established its first-ever CPH Cargo Community at a meeting on February 6, 2019, but activities were soon stalled as the Covid-19 brought the aviation industry down.
Reporting to Morten Mortensen, Copenhagen Airport Snr Director Airline Sales & Route Development, for marketing and sale of the airport as a cargo destination, the CPH Air Cargo Team was set up in 2018, headed by Lars Gotfredsen as Copenhagen Airport Air Cargo Manager from June 11, 2018, and soon expanded with another two members.
But as the Covid-19 brought business down, only Mr Gotfredsen remained in the position until Copenhagen Airport geared up its air cargo team again in early 2022 with a new Cargo Manager, Michael Giese, tasked with supporting cargo business intelligence, re-developing the CPH Cargo Community, driving digitalization, supporting account management, and promoting route development by attracting more direct cargo traffic.
