Feb 21, 2023 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is preparing for its return of flights to Istanbul, Turkey, from April 2, 2023.
The carrier will be offering four weekly rotations from Riga Airport with Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
airBaltic has contracted the GSA company APG Turkey to provide sales, marketing, reservation and ticketing services in Turkey as well as Moldova and Romania.
airBaltic's flights will be handled by the Turkish ground handling company Havas, and cargo services will also be provided by Havas Cargo Services at Istanbul Airport.
The route was first opened by airBaltic on May 1, 2005, but eventually airBaltic pulled out from its only route to Turkey with the last flight on May 26, 2014, due to the stiff competition from Turkish Airlines that launched flights on the route from April 19, 2006.
