Dec 07, 2023 (newstodate): With the latest figures on flown cargo in November 2023, Sweden's Stockholm Airport is documenting a sustained, albeit cautious recovery in volumes.
In November '23 the airport thus handled 8,254 tonnes of cargo, which was still down 3.4 percent, y-o-y, but better than the drop in the preceding month by 9.4 percent, y-o-y.
The improvement is also seen in the volume of cargo January-November '23 at 83,532 tonnes: down 12.4 percent, y-o-y, but better than the drop by 13.3 percent in Jan-Oct '23.
In November '23, import cargo was up 9.5 percent while export volumes were down by 12 percent; in Jan-Nov '23 import cargo was still down by 9.1 percent while export cargo lagged behind by 14.6 percent, y-o-y.
Contributing to the noticeable improvement in cargo at Stockholm Airport is the introduction by Lufthansa Cargo of the A321F service starting from November 4, 2023, with a weekly Airbus A321F carrying exports into Frankfurt Airport for onward global connections.
