Dec 14, 2023 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier Heston Airlines has landed a key contract with the Lithuanian tour operator Novaturas.
Under the contract, Heston Airlines will embark on a long-term partnership with Novaturas group, providing Airbus A320 capacity for the Estonian charter flight program in summer 2024.
With a market share of some 40 percent, Novaturas is the largest tour operator in the Baltic region.
Earlier this autumn, Novaturas lost a court case filed by its earlier key provider of charter flights, GetJet Airlines.
In 2018, the two parties signed a long-term charter flight service agreement, under which their collaboration was supposed to continue for six years until the end of 2024, with option for termination after four years, i.e. by the end of 2022.
However, Novaturas "unilaterally and unlawfully" terminated the agreement already by the end of 2020, seeking to avoid the damages stipulated in the contract - which was not supported by the verdict.
