Dec 08, 2023 (newstodate): Finnair saw a hefty increase in cargo volumes in November 2023.
A total of 12,153 tonnes of cargo was transported, an increase by 20.5 percent, y-o-y, driven by a rise in cargo on the Asian lanes by 23.3 percent to 6,888 tonnes, as well as a sustained rise by 37.1 percent in M East volumes to 2,019 tonnes.
In the first 11 months of this year, the carrier has thus seen its total cargo up by 9.7 percent, y-o-y, to 122,786 tonnes, again thanks to a hike by 28.7 percent on the Asian lanes as well as a rise b y 666.1 percent in volumes on the route connecting Helsinki and Doha where cargo capacity is fully allocated to and sold by Qatar Airways while flown and reported by Finnair under Middle East cargo figures.
Finnair is thus firmly recovering in cargo month by month; in the first eight months the increase was 4.7 percent, y-o-y, growing to 6.6 percent in the first nine months, to 8.6 percent during January-October 2023 - and now to 9.7 percent by the end of November '23.
