Nov 15, 2023 (newstodate): The Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines and its Maltese subsidiary SkyUp Malta will be frequent operators at Zanzibar's Abeid Amani Karume International Airport this winter.
Operating charter flights for its tour operator partners Join UP! Poland, Join UP! Moldova, Join UP! Romania, the carrier launched flights to Zanzibar on October 28, 2023.
The airline now operates flights to Zanzibar from Bucharest, Chisinau and Warsaw, adding a new Zanzibar flight from Katowice from mid-December '23.
The airlines' flight program to Zanzibar will be operated till April 12, 2024.
Actually, all flights will be operated by SkyUp MT, except the flights from Chisinau that will be served by the Ukrainian mother company SkyUp.
The flights to Zanzibar with Boeing 737-800 aircraft will require en-route refueling stops at Hurghada Airport in both directions.
SkyUp Airlines' fleet comprises two Boeing 737-700 and seven Boeing 737-800 aircraft, of which two units have so far been transferred to SkyUp Malta's fleet.
Plans are to grow SkyUp MT's fleet to five or six aircraft to provide capacity for operating the new schedule.
