Nov 14, 2023 (newstodate): SITA's decision to pull out from Russia by September 2023 dealt a fresh blow to Russia civil aviation industry, including airport operations.
   Without the SITA communication system, Russian airlines are no longer able to transmit data about flights, passengers and their luggage to international airports, and foreign airlines are unable to transmit data to Russian airports through the SITA channel.
   Now the stop of SITA services in Russia's aviation industry is also affecting the use of SITA's international domain, .aero.
   The use of these .aero-domains was officially stopped by SITA with effect from November 10, 2023 - but some confusions reigns: one of the organizations authorized in the Russian Federation to register .aero domain names immediately extended the validity of the domains of all its clients for one year at its own expense in order to maintain the functionality of their sites.  
   -For complete peace of mind for our customers, we have insured against possible failures and extended the domains of this zone, which we service, the Ru-Center press service reported.
   They also clarified that at the moment, registration and renewal of domains in the .aero zone is still possible; everything is working normally, since no restrictions have yet come into force.
