Nov 17, 2023 (newstodate): SAS is to increase frequency on its route connecting Denmark and the Faroe Islands in the summer 2024 peak schedule.
The carrier will be operating a seventh weekly rotation between Copenhagen and Vagar during June 29 and August 10, 2024, served with Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The SAS route to the Faroe Islands is operated in code share agreements with LOT Polish Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines.
SAS made its entry on the route with the first flight on April 27, 2017, breaking the virtual monopoly enjoyed by the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways that started operations on the route on March 28, 1988.
Atlantic Airways offers at least two daily, year-round rotations between Vagar and Copenhagen, increasing to four daily flights during summer peak seasons, all code-shared with Air France/KLM.
