Nov 20, 2023 (newstodate): Norway's Stavanger Airport will see the first Airbus A321F operation by Lufthansa Cargo later this week.
Starting from November 23, 2023, Lufthansa Cargo will be routing a weekly A321F flight from Frankfurt to Stavanger, continuing via Copenhagen on the return flight to Frankfurt.
The Norwegian market will thus finally be connected to Lufthansa Cargo's European Short-haul Freighter Network as the last Nordic market, with Helsinki and Copenhagen already served twice-weekly, and Stockholm once-weekly.
The new freighter service from Frankfurt to Stavanger is actually Lufthansa Cargo's second attempt with the Airbus A321F in Norway after an earlier series of trial operations on a route between Frankfurt and Evenes with the first flight on November 2, 2022, but suspended already with the last flight on December 21, 2022.
The coming new Lufthansa Cargo service at Stavanger will be its second freighter service in the Norwegian market where the carrier has been operating a weekly Boeing 777F flight since November 8, 2014, to Stavanger from Houston, Texas, and returning to Frankfurt, serving the countries' oil and gas exploration and industries
Actually, Copenhagen momentarily lost its second A321F service earlier this month due to capacity restraints pending more aircraft deliveries to Lufthansa Cargo, so the coming new Frankfurt-Stavanger service will return the second call at Copenhagen Airport.
