Nov 23, 2023 (newstodate): The truly unique luxury airline BEOND is now in the air with the first flight between Munich and Male on November 15, 2023.
   Heading the carrier as CEO is the Estonian national Tero Taskila, well-known in the Baltic aviation industry from earlier positions with companies including Estonian Air and airBaltic.
   In the fleet of Beond is now one Airbus A319 with only 44 seats compared to a normal seating of 150 passengers; the carrier is shortly to add one Airbus A321 seating 68 instead of normally 220 passengers, but other aircraft are already under consideration - and visions are to be operating 32 aircraft within the next five years.
   The schedule will soon add two weekly rotations to Male from Zurich and Riyadh, planning for flights to Delhi and Hong Kong in 2024 as well as to five destinations in China as - or if - the company matures.
