Nov 21, 2023 (newstodate): From the outset a VIP passenger charter carrier, Lithuania's KlasJet is eyeing potentials for growth in the ACMI market.
Member of the Avia Solutions Group, the carrier has recently obtained a Canadian Foreign Air Operator Certificate, FAOC, and is now open to inquiries in the North American market for wet-lease/ACMI contracts in cargo and passenger operations.
KlasJet operates a fleet comprising five Boeing 737 Classic, one BBJ Boeing 737 as well as eight Boeing 737-800 now to be thrown into the ACMI market.
-We see a very strong need for ACMI in the market right now, and it’s only expected to grow. Aircraft manufacturers are dealing with backlogs and the situation is made more complicated by a number of overbooked MRO slots.
-Paired with the first summer largely out of the pandemic, and skyrocketing demand for travel, it is key for tour operators, brokers, and airlines to take action now and not wait until right before the high summer season, says Lukas Petrauskas, KlasJet Deputy CEO.
With HQ in Vilnius, KlasJet was set up by Avia Solutions Group in November 2013, and obtained its AOC in late June 2014, initially focussing on VIP passenger charters and later developing into the passenger and cargo charter ACMI markets.
