Nov 20, 2023 (newstodate): Member of the Avia Solutions Group, the Latvian carrier SmartLynx has received one more converted Airbus A321 freighter.
The aircraft is added to the fleet on behalf of its Japanese investor through an operating lease transaction with JP Lease Products & Services Co., Ltd. and JLPS Ireland Limited.
The transaction is the lessee's eighth aircraft operating lease transaction with SmartLynx covering both passenger and freighter aircraft.
The largest ACMI service provider in Europe with one-third of the market, SmartLynx Airlines also operates in the USA, North America, Asia, and Africa, with AOCs in Latvia, Estonia, and Malta.
In the carrier's fleet today are 55 aircraft and plans are to grow to 65 aircraft by the end of 2023, including 29 Airbus A320, six Airbus A330-300, eight Airbus A321, 13 Airbus A321F, and nine Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
SmartLynx Airlines remains Latvia's largest airline, measured in size of fleet, beating #2 airBaltic that is today operating 44 aircraft in its fleet.
