Nov 29, 2023 (newstodate): The date for opening Greenland's new Atlantic airport at Nuuk has now been announced: November 28, 2024!
   Air Greenland's Airbus A330-800 aircraft will perform the first flight to inaugurate the 2,200 m runway that will accept operations with large aircraft, currently handled only at Kangerlussuaq Airport in the southern part of the country, requiring fixed- and rotary wing aircraft connections to and from Greenland's other population centers, notably the capital region.
   An initial step towards the full opening of Nuuk Airport will be marked already in early May 2024 as the airport's new buildings including the passenger terminal will go operational.
