Oct 26, 2023 (newstodate): New on the tarmac at Vilnius Airport is Skyline Express Airlines.
With the first flight today, the Ukrainian carrier operates weekly charter flights for Lithuanian tour operators from Vilnius to Egyptian leisure destinations Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh through the winter season.
To provide ground handling services at Vilnius Airport, the carrier has contracted Litcargus.
Before the Russian war on Ukraine trading under the name Azur Air Ukraine, the carrier was operating charter flights from European, African, Indian and American airports to leisure destinations with a fleet of 11 Boeing aircraft.
In March 2023, the name was changed into Skyline Express, and today the carrier operates two Boeing 757-300 aircraft against 10 Boeing aircraft before the war.
Azur Air Ukraine was originally set up as a subsidiary of the Russian airline UTAir but acquired in 2015 by the Ukrainian tour operator Anex Tours that is still behind Skyline Express.
