Oct 16, 2023 (newstodate): Norway is still not on the immediate schedule for much-coveted flights to Thailand by Thai airways.
Thai Airways has long since resumed post-Covid services to Denmark and Sweden, but the carrier remains offline in the Norwegian market.
The carrier reportedly obtained slots for three weekly operations at Oslo Airport in winter '23 but retreated from its plans, handing back the slots, and Oslo still remains absent on the latest list of destinations served in winter 2023/24.
Only last month, Bangkok Post still reported that Thai Airways was preparing for launch of flights from Bangkok to Istanbul in December 2023.
-Thai will soon launch new flights to Oslo, Milan, Sydney and Perth, Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri said in an interview with the media.
Thai Airways first launched flights from Bangkok to Oslo on June 15, 2009, offering five weekly flights that are also of great importance to Norway's seafood exporters.
