Oct 26, 2023 (newstodate): Bleak and sun-hungry Norwegians can look forward to the imminent opening of flights from Oslo to Bangkok, Thailand.
Starting from November 2, 2023, Norse is thus opening flights on its first Asian route from Oslo to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport with two weekly rotations with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
However, encouraged by a strong response in the Norwegian market, Norse Atlantic Airways will add a third weekly rotation during the period December 19, 2023-January 14, 2024, and around Easter 2024, March 19-30, 2024.
The coming new flights between Oslo and Bangkok will launch only few days after SAS' reopening of flights from Copenhagen to Bangkok starting from October 31, 2023, offering three weekly rotations with Airbus A350 aircraft.
Thai Airways started operating flights to Oslo from June 15, 2009, but suspended all Scandinavian services from April 1, 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic deepened.
The carrier returned flights from Bangkok to Copenhagen again from July 17, 2021, and to Stockholm from October 2021 - while Oslo still remains absent from the schedule in winter 2023/24.
